Dispute on jello shot recipe?
Ok-So I am making Jello Shots for my honey’s 30th b-day party this weekend-so reminiscent of college days! (Yes, we are also having a keg or two) Anyway, I have never made them myself, only watched. I have searched for recipes, & I know to substitute the alcohol (in this case, cheap Vodka) for the cold water. However, some recipes say don’t sub all the cold water w/ vodka or they won’t set up, & some say you can. I need a definite answer from an experienced Jello Shot maker! I am going to probably use Watermelon jello (if it matters) & I would like to use the Big Box of jello. Please let me know your opinion, as I am going to go with the majority on this one! Thanks All!
Peace
First of all, freeze whatever kind of liquor you plan on using. It will help the shots set up quicker. Also, it’s easiest tomake them in a bowl or large Pyrex cup with a spout, so it’s easier to pour them into the shot cups. When I make mine, I just replace the cold water with the liquor and make according to the package. I’ve never had a problem with them setting u[p ok. Also, sometimes all vodka can end up tasting strong. I make mine with 1/2 vodka and 1/2 schnapps or pucker.

i use 1 part everclear and 1 part water it works great if you can find everclear in your state some states its illegal

Like you said I just substitute the alcohol for the cold water, then I put the mixture into what the shots will be served in, GFS has the little plastic cups with lids that work great, put them on a cookie sheet and put in the fridge for the same amount of time if you were making just jello. They turn out great and I always get compliments on them.
Good luck and have fun.

Just so you know, the everclear mixture and st8 voda would be the same water to alc. ratio.

Go to a local bar and ask them. I made some once and only reduced the water by half and replaced it with Absolut.
Cheap vodka? No no no…don’t buy cheap vodka. Life’s to short to buy cheap booze. After all, you will only turn 30 once. Be good to yourself.

i am now the queen of jello shots according to my friends. I do substitute the full amount of cold water for vodka, and NEVER had a problem with them setting. plus they always taste strong, thats why eveyone always wants me to make them. so for you big jello box, use 2 cups boiling water & 2 cups vodka-i put mine in the freezer to make it nice & cold.

You can use all vodka and it will set, but I think that makes them way too strong. With watermelon jello I use 1/2 vodka & 1/2 watermelon pucker in place of the cold water.
Enjoy!!

Definately DO NOT sub all the water for alcohol, too much alcohol will not set
eagleclaw006 | Sep 13, 2007
I made jello shooters once and substituted all of the cold water with vodka and they were nasty. Too much vodka. Try using half cold water and half vodka. That should be good enough to get drunk on, but still taste good enough to be able to eat.

I’ve made jello shots for new years parties for the past few years. i favor smirnoff flavored vodka. If you are using watermelon jello i would go with watermelon vodka, it doesn’t taste as strong than using reg. vodka. Also substitute all of the cold water with the vodka. Don’t worry if you use the flavored vodka it won’t taste too strong. It will be strong but it won’t taste it. buy a small pkg of jello and try it out at home and see what you like best.

was Tallulah Bankhead a lesbian?
was Tallulah Bankhead a lesbian? or she was a bisexual?
I found an article said that she had sex with women and men…
I think she was a lesbian who had sex with men…I think Tallulah was kind of an opportunist.

Go to your local Dollarama and look at what they offer. With what i am suggeting below, i am thinking that the dance would be in the gym. It would still work in a classroom though.
I personally would get black and orange streamers and twist them together and drape them all over the room. Maybe from the 4 corners of the room into the middle, and then let the left over drop into the middle of the room (still high enough that people dont get hit in the head) and put black and orange balloons on them.
Hanging bats, skelletons, ghosts, spider webs (that stuff in the bag), paper pumpkins taped around the bottom of the walls.
Maybe buy some glow in the dark pens and cut out the outlines of the traditional cartoon spider web (http://www.allaboutdrawings.com/images/s pider-web-drawing.jpg) , and then draw in the webbing with the pens. After that you can either hang them from the ceiling or tape them to the wall.
I know i have more ideas, but i cant think of them all right now. I hope that gives you a good start.
P.S. Do not get a smoke machine. I love the idea of it, but a lot of people can’t breath with them. If you do decide to maybe get one, make sure you ask around to see if anyone had asthma or breathing problems first.

orange christmas lights!!!

Well, to give it a glow, get tons of large moon-shaped glow-in-the-dark wall stickers. Try to find some with a black witch shadow.
http://www.muralsforkids.com/images/Glow StarsStickers.jpg
To make your dance spooky, buy lights that reflect Halloween shapes on walls. Turn out the lights in the place where you’re having the dance to show the lights’ effects!
http://www.bettyschristmashouse.com/holi day/images/jack_o_lantern.jpg
http://www.christmaslightsetc.com/Images /CategoryDetail/Halloween_Lights.jpg
Buy costumes such as ghosts, witches, warlocks, the Grim Reaper, and more and hire people to wear the costumes and pose as statues, and when people walk by have them jump out and scare them
http://www.nightmarefactory.com/FW5067.j pg
Buy several CDs with spooky sound effects. Also get a boombox and a Halloween CD game. I forgot what it is called but it has cards for it and what your supposed to do is have one person be a vampire or bear, and make sure all the lights are out, while everyone else goes and hides. Everyone who is found becomes a vampire/bear.
Set up a costume theme.
I hope your dance is a blast!

The linesman who was cut on the face last week, during the Ranger/Flyer game.
It was mentioned on today’s Ranger’s/Buffalo game that he had reconstructive surgery this week. He had 4 facial fractures and about 50 stitches.
jkelley533 | Feb 16, 2008
he needed alot of stitches
ballmonkeyhockey | Feb 14, 2008
he required alot of stitches but he feels alot better now. He is known by many as a really tough guy as you could probably tell when he tried to break up the fight with blood dripping off his face.
Bryan | Feb 14, 2008
Yeah, he suffered a broken nose and required about 20 stitches. It happened so fast it was hard to tell what hit him at first, but with the slo-mo replay it was clearly a skate that hit him.
Even after he was hit he still tried to break up the fight/brawl that broke out, leaving a trail of blood, having to be pushed away by one of the refs.
